There are two research objectives. To find out the reasons for KN-LWF in improving the welfare of the people in the village of Saibi Mentawai Islands. Second, to find out the diaconal actions carried out by KN-LWF to the people in the village of Saibi Mentawai Islands. The research method used is a qualitative research descriptive approach that can provide an original picture, social reality and perceptions of research targets aimed at investigating the object of research. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and literature study.
The research results are as follows. First, KN-LWF provides diakonia to the people in Saibi Village because the They still have difficulties in transportation or in the remote areas, making the difficulties for community to sell their agricultural products. This results make people having low incomes. Government has not done road repairssome have not even been implemented. The government needs to pay more attention to the people. Second, the strategy carried out by KN-LWF in increasing diakonia is carried out by sending staff to carry out missions and diakonia the community by observing and providing assistance to the people in Saibi Village. The service transformation was carried out with several reforms, namely holding organic farming training. The next program is to provide training to farmers in caring for cloves. In addition, KN-LWF has established a library and provides English courses to elementary school children free of charge. Thus the Saibi community is increasingly prepared to be able to deal with technological developments.
